Quick Look At The REP Fitness PR-1100
The REP Fitness PR-1100 is an affordable power rack able to withstand up to 700 lbs (317.8 kg). Multiple upgrades are available for the rack, its dimensions make it compact enough for most spare bedrooms, garages, and basements, and the multi-grip pull-up bar is a nice touch.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t feel as sturdy as a commercial-grade power rack and doesn’t feature Westside hole spacing (1” or 25 mm between holes). Instead, the holes are three inches (76.2 mm) apart, which can make it challenging to find the perfect position for the barbell on some movements.
As a whole, the REP Fitness PR-1100 is the fantastic power rack for most trainees looking to build a decent home gym with limited funds and space.

The REP FItness PR-1100 is perhaps the best power rack in this price range. There might be cheaper options on Amazon and other sites, but none are likely to be of such good quality, feature such great aesthetics, and be compatible with that many attachments.
An In-Depth Look At 8 REP PR-1100 Benefits
1. Multi-Grip Pull-Up Bar
The PR-1100 comes standard with a multi-grip pull-up bar. Depending on what you need, you can mount the bar to face up or down.
For instance, you can mount the bar to face down if you’re shorter and struggle to reach it without jumping or stepping on something. Conversely, mount it to face up if you’re taller. The extra couple of inches can make a big difference.
2. Light And Portable
The REP PR-1100 weighs only 130 lbs, features a stable base, and is relatively compact. As a result, it is portable and allows you to move it around if necessary.

The PR-1100 is not a half-rack but is still relatively compact and can fit inside most basements, garages, and spare rooms.

At the time of writing, the PR-1100 is listed for $380 on the REP Fitness website, which is as good as it gets for a power rack of that quality. There could be cheaper models on the market, but they aren’t nearly as good-looking, versatile, and durable.

5. Attachment Options
As mentioned above, the PR-1100 comes standard with a multi-grip pull-up bar, safety spotter arms, and J-cups for your barbell. Some notable things you can add to the rack include:
- Lat pulldown attachment - it has a high and low pulley and is plate-loaded
- Weight storage - in addition to holding up to 2,000 lbs of weight (908 kg), the weight storage turns the PR-1100 into a 6-post rack, which makes it a lot sturdier
- Dip station - it has a weight capacity of 400 lbs (181.6 kg)
- Landmine attachment - it opens the doors for a wide range of new barbell exercises

7. A Complete Package
Unlike some products on the market, the REP PR-1100 is a fantastic option because even the basic package provides everything you need to start training. You get a fully-functional power rack with spotter arms, J-cups, and a multi-grip bar.
Neat design detail: The J-cups are lined with high-quality thermoplastic to prevent damage to the barbell or the uprights when racking and unracking your weight.
Add an adjustable gym bench, a barbell, some weight plates, and a couple of barbell collars, and you’re good to go.
8. No Need to Bolt It Down
The REP PR-1100 features a flat bottom, which means you don’t have to bolt it down or attach it to your wall for safe and effective training.
Purchasing additional weight storage converts the PR-1100 from a 4-post to a 6-post rack, which means the base is even larger and sturdier.
Of course, be careful when racking a loaded barbell if you’re using the base model. It only weighs 130 lbs, so it might rock a bit if you slam the barbell against it.
Two Not-so-Great Things About The REP PR-1100
1. It’s Not The Most Compact Option
Overall, the PR-1100 is more compact than many other power racks on the market. Its dimensions are 85" (215.9 cm) height by 58.1" (147.5 cm) width by 48.5" (123.2 cm) depth.

2. It Doesn’t Feel As Sturdy
The PR-1100 weighs only 130 lbs, which means it is portable, but that also means it doesn’t feel as sturdy during training. It shakes a bit if you put your hands on it and apply force, and it can wobble a bit if you slam a loaded barbell against the uprights.
One simple solution is to get the available Weight storage, which turns the PR-1100 into a 6-post rack, making it much sturdier.
3. It Might Not Work Great For Taller Lifters
The PR-1100 is 85” (215.9 cm) tall, which is plenty for short and average trainees but might not be enough if you’re over 6’2” or 6’3” (188-191 cm).
4. The Weight Limit Isn’t Huge
I don’t expect 99 percent of potential PR-1100 buyers to need more than 700 lbs (317.8 kg) of weight capacity, but if you’re one of the rare few who handles more weight, this one might not be for you.
5. No Westside Hole Spacing
Perhaps the most apparent drawback of the PR-1100 is that the holes are three inches apart, which can make it difficult to set the barbell at the ideal height for squats, bench press, and other movements.
It’s not the end of the world, but it will certainly take time for you to adjust.
